Biography
"Dr. V. Sudershan Rao is working in Food Safety division of National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, has done his Masters in Food Science from Central Food Technology Research Institute, Mysore and Doctorate from Mangalore University. His research specialization includes Microbiological Risk Assessment, Food borne disease investigations, HACCP studies and development of analytical methods for food contaminants. He is a recognized PhD supervisor in Nutrition and Food Safety and currently guiding students. He has more than 50 publications on various aspects of food safety. He was bestowed with Kejriwal Award in 1997 by All India Food Processors Association for his work on HACCP; he also won the Platinum City Strategist Award 2009 from the Foundation for Futuristic Cities for preparing a Strategy to streamline streetfood vending in Hyderabad. He is an expert member of Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives and Contaminants, International Dairy Federation, Food Safety Authority of India and Bureau of Indian Standards. He also serves as a consultant in food safety for AP Foods Ltd., Common Wealth Games 2010. He is a member of the Nutrition Society of India, Indian Dietetic Association and Executive Committee member of the Association of Food Scientists and Technologists. He is guest faculty and recourse person in Institutes such as NAARM, ANGRAU, OU, MANAGE, Food and Nutrition Board"
