Biography

Dr.C.Natarajan got graduated B.E.in Civil Engineering in 1977 and M.E.in Structural Engineering in 1979 from Annamalai University. He received his Ph.D. degree from IIT Madras in 1984. He is currently Professor in Department of Civil Engineering at NITT. He has served as the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering from December 2005 to January 2009 and the Dean, Planning and Development of NITT from April 2010 to August 2010. He was also the Chairman, Library committee of NITT from October 2011 to May 2014. From November 2005 to February 2008 he has served as the Chairman, Estate and Works committee of the institute and the nodal officer for TEQIP civil works from July 2005 to January 2010. During his tenure of the headship the research activities of the department was given as thrust by the motivation of the former Director Prof. Chidambaram. M.Tech. in Environmental Engineering was introduced. Many professors from abroad were invited under TEQIP to collaborate research and deliver lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences. During the tenure of the Chairmanship in the library he had introduced the RFID a unique in automation of library system. As the Chairman of Estate and Works committee he reformed the tender procedure in a flawless manner. He modernized the infrastructure facilities of the institute as a TEQIP Nodal officer.
