Biography
Dr. Vishnu Shanker is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Chemistry at National Institute of Technology Warangal, Telangana, where he has been since 2008. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2007 under the guidance of Prof. A K Ganguli, Department of Chemistry, IIT Delhi (at present he is the Director of Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali, Chandigarh). He is actively involved in the research and development programme in the National Institute of Technology Warangal. He is an affiliate faculty of the Chemistry Department and Centre for Advance Materials, National Institute of Technology Warangal. He has been associated with the research in the area of nanostructured materials and its dopping effect studies for the dielectric properties and photocatalysis applications. He has been significantly contributed in carrying out research work on design and development of novel photocatalyst for environmental remediation that has been reflected as publication in high impact factor journal like Nanoscale, Chemistry of Materials A, Journal of Physical Chemistry C, Physical chemistry chemical Physics, Dalton Trans, RSC Advances etc. He has carried out a young scientist fast track research project entitled "Synthesis, characterization and doping effectstudies of complex metal oxide nano particles" sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. His current research interest is in design and development of suitable bandgap semiconductor materials for water splitting, environmental remediation, catalysis reaction and clean and green energy production.
