Avian influenza outbreak investigations, surveillance in poultry, wild and migratory birds. Virological and molecular characterization of emerging influenza viruses. Development of monoclonal antibodies, rapid diagnostic and serological assays for influenza viruses. Studies on animal-human interface activities with reference to influenza viruses. Studies on pathogenesis, drug sensitivity, resistance of influenza viruses. Pre-clinical trials and efficacy studies of influenza virus vaccines.
