Biography

I would like to work on environment from social science perspective since environment determines the very survival of life on earth. Political Science as a part of social science is also concererned with the conflicts arising from the unethical and unusual shardation of environment and environmental products. An attempt would be made to understand the confluence of various causal and structural factors responsible for emergence of conflict over environment and resource use processes. The study would analyze environmental/resource conflict through the lens of economic growth and development discourses. The study would make groundwork for a more rapid transition to sustainable development in conflict-affected environments. Another area in which I prefer to work is on development.Development in India is still not successful in its proper sense. My study will aim at bringing about changes in development thinking. It would attempt to discover subjugated knowledge and hidden power relationship through action and applied research. The study will attempt to develop paradigms of development where the beneficiaries would feel a sense of participation in the development process. Throughout the study I will look and map the role of academics in raising awareness, empowering people and contributing to social good.
