Biography

Dr. Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan is an Assistant Professor at department of Humanities and Social science NSIT Delhi since 9th April 2008. He is Ph.d, M.phil and MA in sociology from JNU New Delhi and MA in Philosophy from Utkal university Bhubaneshwar Odisha he also worked with a leading NGO in the area of PWD welfare Odisha Association for the blind with various capacity and assignment like project formulation, implementation and supervision for two years six months. He also represented on behalf of persons with disability to state coordination committee and state executive committee of government of Odisha he also contributed as member to various sub-committee government of Odisha in formulating PWD’s welfare policies. On different occasions he also organized state and national level seminar and workshop on disability studies/disability welfare and gave talks on different disabilities related issues on behalf of Odisha Association for the Blind. At present he holds the post of the president of Odisha Assiciation for the blind and he is also member to different state level national level NGOs working in the area of disability studies and disability welfare. His major academic areas of interest are disability studies, Conservation of forest(in reference to JFM And CFM and Sociology of development in the context of development, displacement and rehabilitation).
