Dr. Alka Mahajan

Biography

Dr. Alka Mahajan has done her graduation in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from A.U College of Engineering, Waltair in 1983 and then her post graduation leading to M Tech in Electronics Design Technology from CEDTI, Aurangabad. She subsequently did her PhD from the Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi University in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering in the broad area of Soft Computing applied to Power Electronics applications. Dr. Mahajan has over 29 years of teaching and administrative experience and has guided a number of undergraduate and postgraduate projects, with a number of publications in national and international journals and conferences to her credit. She has organized a number of workshops and conferences in these areas as well as on entrepreneurship and personality development & communication skills. Dr. Mahajan has been a Member of the Standing Committee on the scheme of ‘Development of Women’s Studies in Indian Universities & Colleges and Capacity Building of Women Managers’, constituted by the MHRD, New Delhi. She is also an Expert Advisor to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi and an Expert Evaluator on the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). She is a member of IEEE, CSI, IEI, ISTE and a fellow of IETE. She has worked as an expert on various technical & local inspection committees set up by the Mumbai University. Dr Mahajan is member of the Academic Council and Research Committee of ICFAI University, and is a recognized PhD guide with JNTU Hyderabad & Dr. B A Marathwada University, Aurangabad. Dr. Mahajan is also the member of Bombay First Education Mission. She has been involved in developing and implementing innovative and meaningful programs that help student and faculty perform better in their chosen profession.
