Biography
Dr. Dhaivat Parikh is working as Assistant Professor at Department of Pharmaceutics, Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University since about 10 years. He is highly passionate about teaching variety of courses offered by Department of Pharmaceutics, and he has get excellent command on topics like Unit Operations, Pharmacokinetics, Drug Laws, Experimental Design, etc. Recently, he has been awarded as Best Assistant Professor of Institute for Innovation in Teaching Methodologies. He is actively involved in Consultancy and Testing at Department. He has Seven International publications to his credit including two articles in Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery (having high impact factor above 4). He has also been awarded with "Outstanding Faculty Award" for his significant contribution for development of University website. He is recipient of Merit Award for the Research paper presented at “International symposium of Controlled Release Society – Indian Chapter” in 2011. The M.Pharm. Student under his co-guidance received the Troikaa sponsored Rajnibhai Patel Best M.Pharm. Thesis award for Pharmaceutics category in 2011. He has been invited to deliver the guest lectures at AICTE sponsored staff development program and expert lecture series. He has presented his Research work by Oral presentation at International conference PharmaTech-2012 held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; as well as presented research poster at International Conference - APSGB's PharmSci 2014 held at University of Hertfordshire, UK. He has organized the workshops on Equipment for Formulation Development. He is the principal investigator of one of the collaborative research project funded by Nirma University. He has rendered his professional services to leading Universities of the Gujarat like Gujarat Technological University, KSV University, CHARUSAT, Ganpat University, Sumandeep University, Uka Tarsadiya University (UTU), etc. He is a life member of Professional bodies like Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Indian Pharmacy Graduates' Association (IPGA), Indian Hospital Pharmacist Association (IHPA), Asian Polymer Association (APA), etc. He is an Editorial Team member of NUJPS (Nirma Univ Journal of Pharm Sci), Secretary of IPNUAA (Alumni Association) & Faculty Advisor of NIPSA (Students' Association). His major area of interest is Novel Drug Delivery Systems (specifically to Gastro-Retentive Drug Delivery Systems, Formulations for Oral Cavity, Medicated Chewing Gum, etc.).

Formulation Development & Optimization of various Novel Drug Delivery Systems including Gastro-retentive formulations, Medicated Chewing Gums, Microparticulate systems, MUPS, etc.
