Dr. Nityesh Bhatt

Biography

Dr Nityesh Bhatt is a Professor (Information Management Area) and Chairperson of MDPs at Institute of Management, Nirma University, Ahmedabad. He holds MBA & Ph.D (e-Governance) degrees from M.L.Sukhadia University, Udaipur - India. He has also completed a four months Faculty Development Programme (FDP) of IIM-Ahmedabad, and an online 'Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme' of DiploFoundation, Malta in year 2006. Out of more than 18 years of experience in academia, corporate training and research; in his first three years, he was associated with NIIT and First Computers at Udaipur (Raj.). In 1998, he was awarded as the best faculty of NIIT in North India. From Sept. 2000 to May 2007, he worked with Pacific Institute of Management, Udaipur. Credited with good number of research papers & management cases, he has also co-edited seven books. In year 2006, Dr. Bhatt was invited to participate in first Internet Governance Forum (IGF) meet jointly organized by United Nations – IGF Secretariat and Government of Greece at Athens. Since 2007, he is a member of the National Executive Committee of Special Interest Group on e-Governance (SIGeGov) set up by Computer Society of India (CSI). He is the recipient of ‘Dewang Mehta Best Teacher of Information Technology Award' in 2009. Two of his students have already been awarded PhD. Another two students are pursuing their PhD with him. He is also a research consultant with ISRO, Ahmedabad in ICT area. He has conducted close more than 250 MDPs for leading public sector and private sector organisations like NirLife (Healthcare Division of Nirma Ltd.), Adani Group, ONGC, BPCL, Hindustan Zinc Ltd., Sterlite, Reliance Energy, Alstom Power, Kalpataru Power Transmission, J.K. Cement, Parle, Zydus Cadilla, Torrent Pharma, GMDC, Piramal Healthcare, Inspiron, Pfizer, Income Tax, Sales Tax, SBI, SBBJ, BOB, Western Zone Railway Training Centre, BOSCH, McDowell, ICAR, Indian Air Force. His research areas include e-Governance, ERP and Technology Enabled Operations Management.
