Biography
Dr. Samik Shome is a teacher and researcher in the field of Economics. He has a distinguished academic record and holds a Ph.D. and a Post-Graduation in Economics from University of Calcutta and a Graduate Diploma in Materials Management from Indian Institute of Materials Management, Kolkata, in which he was awarded Gold Medal for his performance. Dr. Shome has 17 years of teaching, research and consultancy experience. During this period, he has been associated with IMS Unison University (Dehradun), Alliance University (Bangalore) and Administrative Staff College of India (Hyderabad) among others in several academic and administrative positions. Dr. Shome’s research interests include labour economics, strategy and issues in public policy. He has several publications in national and international journals of repute and presented several papers in national and international conferences. Dr. Shome has also been associated with several government and community based research and consultancy projects which includes UNCTAD, International Finance Corporation (IFC), Ministry of Commerce & Industries, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC).
