Biography
Dr. Jigna Samir Shah has 17 years of teaching, research and administrative experience. She studied at L. M. College of Pharmacy, Ahmedabad and obtained B. Pharm and M. Pharm. (Pharmacology) with first class from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. She was awarded gold medal by Gujarat University for securing highest marks in Pharmacology subject in Final B. Pharm. She is recipient of AICTE Research Promotion Scheme (RPS) grant of Rs. 14,50,000/- in the area of neuropsychopharmacology, AICTE MODROBS grant of Rs. 8,50,000/- and Faculty Development Programme (FDP) grant of Rs. 3,50,000/- titled “Newer perspectives in Clinical Research” for the year 2012-13. Her area of research interest is gastrointestinal pharmacology, oncology, cardiovascular pharmacology and psychopharmacology. She has carried out collaborative work with industry and hospitals and carried out consultancy services also. She has published 32 research papers in national and international journals and had more than 40 National and International presentations at various conferences and seminars. She has received three prizes for best poster presentations at various conferences. She has delivered guest lectures at one-day workshops and seminars and is reviewer to several journals. She is recognized Ph. D. guide at Nirma University. She has supervised 30 post graduate and several graduate students’ dissertations. She is life member of IPA, ISTE and IPS.

Preclinical Toxicity studies, Preclinical studies for Neuropsychiatric Disorders, Oral Cancer, Gastrointestinal Diseases, Cerebrovascular Diseases, Preclinical Pharmacokinetic studies, Pharmacological evaluation of Drugs of Natural Origin and NCEs, Pharmacoepidemiological studies.
