Prof. Tejal Amit Mehta

Biography

Dr. Tejal is presently working as Professor & Head in Dept. of Pharmaceutics, Nirma University, Ahmedabad. She has done her Ph.D. from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar & B.Pharm & M.Pharm(Pharamceutics & Pharmaceutical Technology) from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad with First Class. She has 19 years of teaching & 13 years of research experience at UG & PG level. Her area of research is Dissolution enhancement of sparingly soluble drugs & formulation development of novel drug delivery systems. She has published more than 65 research papers in journals of national & international repute. She has also presented several papers in national & international conferences. She is an author of a chapter in multi-authored book on Novel Drug Delivery Systems. She is recipient of the Best Paper Award 2004 granted by Association of Pharmaceutical Teacher’s of India for publishing paper in Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. She also received R. V. Patel Best M.Pharm thesis award in Guide category. She has also authored a book “Practical Manual of Pharmaceutical Engineering” and “Practical Manual of Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms. She filed 4 patents related to her research. She has successfully completed GUJCOST sponsored minor research project related to formulation development. She delivered lectures in various staff development programmes. She is a recognized PG and Ph. D. Guide of Nirma University. She is reviewer of national & international journal in her research area of interest. She is life member of APTI, IPGA and Society of Pharmacovigilence of India.
