Mrityunjoy Chatterjee

Biography

A First Class Postgraduate in Journalism from the University of Calcutta and a Commerce Graduate from the St.Xavier’s College, Prof Chatterjee is currently the Director of NSHM Institute of Media & Design (NIMD) under NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata.Previously, he was the Director of three Schools under AMITY University, Kolkata–School of Communication (ASCO), Amity School of Fine Arts (ASFA) and Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT). Earlier Prof Chatterjee was the Director of Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship & Development (iLEAD) and Principal of NSHM Institute of Media & Communication (NIMC), Kolkata. Prof. Chatterjee, who has a rich experience of over three decades in mainstream Media and Academics,served across the Media Industry in different responsible positions for over two decades in News Agency, Print, Radio and Television. As a journalist, he has covered important Political and Sports events, in the country and abroad. He has also been a packager with the BBC World Service and a popular compere and programmer with All India Radio, Doordarshan and other private television channels.
