Biography
Shri Om Prakash Bhatt, an Independent Director of your Company, had joined the ONGC Board on 14.12. 2011 on 13.12.2014. He started his career as a probationary officer with SBI in 1972. During his career span of 36 years with SBI, he has held several important assignments in India and abroad including stints at the Bank's London and Washington offices. Under the leadership of Shri Bhatt, SBI steadily improved its global ranking in the list of Fortune 500 companies. Shri Bhatt made rapid strides arresting falling market share, rapid branch expansion with the bank opening 11,000th branch under him, the first Indian bank and only the second in the world to do so, and entering a number of new businesses.
