Biography
Fulbright Scholar and Hubert Humphrey Fellow in Technology Policy and Management at the American University, Washington, DC (focused on IP Management in Academic and Publicly Funded R&D Institutions), he has more than 30 years of techno-commercial experience in a research setting. Last assignment at NCL was as Head of Research Planning and Business Development Division. Involved with pre-research appraisal and techno-economic evaluation of projects, IP Management, licensing, technology transfer and business development. Assisted NCL leadership in generating licensing income and contract R&D business from Multinational companies like Du Pont, GE, Dow, ICI, Eastman, Akzo, and Unilever etc. Presently serving as Head of CSIR's Unit for Research and Development of Information Products (URDIP), that is involved in Patinformatics and value-added IP services. Clientele includes start-ups, MNCs, research institutes and multilateral agencies (World Bank, WIPO).
