Biography
Dr Dhruvesh Patel received his Ph D degree from Gujarat University, L.D. College of Engineering, India in field of Civil Engineering (Water Resources Engineering). After that, research Fellowship has been achieved by him from University of Bristol, U.K. Presently he is working an Assistant professor of civil Engineering at School of Technology (SoT), Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Gujarat, India. He has published more than 21 papers in leading international Journals and conferences in his research fields. He is author of two books viz., Application of RS and GIS in Water Resources Management published by LAMBERT academic publishing, Germany and Hydrology and Water Resources Engineeing Atul publication, India; and author of book chapter titled Application of Geo-Spatial Technique for Flood Inundation Mapping of Lower Lying Area which is published in Springer International publishing, Switzerland. Dr Dhruvesh Patel has received International Travel Support (ITS) under the young scientist scheme from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), India. He is reviewer in many journals, such as Advance in Space Research (Elsevier), Water Resources Management (Springer), Arabian Journal of Geosciences (Springer), Environmental Earth Sciences (Springer), Applied Water Science (Springer), Earth Science Information (Springer), Flood Risk Management (Wiley Online Library) and Geocarto International (Taylor & Francis online). He is life meneber of the ISTE, IWRS, ISH, ISG and Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS)
Research Interest
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System [Weather radar, satellite, digital terrain model, Semi-distributed hydrological modeling (SWAT) & hydrodynamic modeling (HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRas, RAS Mapper, MIKE11, MIKE-FLOOD)], Real-time Flood Forecasting (System design, real-time updating, un-gauged catchment, uncertainty, lumped hydrological modeling), Flood Risk Assessment and Management (Flood statistics, frequency analysis, PMP/PMF, geo-statistics, hydrological design), Water Resources Management (Water resources assessment, hydro-ecology, watershed prioritization and modeling, soil and water conservation techniques), Natural Hazards (drought and flood), All aspects of flood resilience and urban flooding.
