Manikanta Ravindra Kumar Vakkalagadda
Assistant Professor
Mechanical Engineering
Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University
India
Biography
Dr. Manikanta Ravindra obtained his Masters and PhD degrees from IIT Kharagpur in manufacturing science and engineering specialization. He had taken a real life challenging problem (locomotive wheel failure from excessive wheel gauge change, sponsored by Indian Railways) as a part of his PhD research and identified root causes of problems and submitted solutions for same to Indian Railways. He is specialized in numerical modeling of manufacturing processes, worked for several years on modelling of manufacturing processes such as (i) Sheet metal forming (sheet bending and deep drawing), (ii) Modeling of hot rolling, (iii) Heat treatment of railway wheels, and (iv) friction stir welding processes.
Research Interest
NUMERICAL MODELING OF MANUFACTURING PROCESSES, RAILWAY ENGINEERING
