Biography

"Worked as Lecturer, Department of Anthropology, Panjab University, Chandigarh as of 24th March, 1998 forenoon to March 2002. Promoted after interview to Lecturer, Senior Scale effective from 24th March, 2002. Promoted after interview to the post of Reader, at the Department of Anthropology, Panjab University, Chandigarh, effective from 24 March 2007. Placed as Associate Professor from 24 March 2010. Promoted after interview to Professor, effective from 24 March 2013. Member of Panjab University Teachers’ Association (1998 onwards; Elected unopposed Executive Body member 2004-5 and again in 2007-8). Member of Board of Control, Board of Research Studies, Academic Committee (Secretary, 1999-2000), Administrative Committee (Secretary, 2006, 2008), Technical Committee (Secretary, 2000-2001, 2002-2003, 2007, 2011), UGAPMEC (Secretary, 2002- 2005), PGAPMEC]. Member Board of Control in Bengali, Panjab University, from 2006 onwards. Chairperson, Department of Anthropology, Panjab University, from 17 April 2014 to 16 April 2017. Member BOC in Centre for Social Exclusion, Panjab University, Chandigarh 2015-16. Member Purchase Committee, Panjab University 2015-17. I have for over two years been taking Tutorial classes in Social Anthropology as well as practical classes in Archaeology, where I assisted Prof. D.K. Bhattacharya in teaching before 1998. Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate classes at the Department of Anthropology, Panjab University, Chandigarh as of 24 March 1998. At present designated Associate Professor in Social Anthropology. Also, from 2008, taking classes in Public Health at the University till 2014. From 2009, taking classes at the Department of Forensic Science and Criminology on Criminology upto 2012, 2014. Taken classes on Environmental Impact Assessment at the Department of Environmental and Vocational Studies in 2011."
