Biography
"Pursued postgraduate and doctorate degrees from Panjab University, Chandigarh and PG Diploma in Forensic Sciences from Punjabi University, Patiala. • Presently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology, Panjab University, Chandigarh, since May 2013. Previously worked as Anthropologist (Group-A, Gazetted) in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Govt. Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh. • Major areas of research and specializations are: Forensic Anthropology, Odontology and Osteology, Forensic Biology, Ancient DNA studies • Published a total of 30 research papers in reputed journals (International: 22; National: 08). • Presented research papers in more than 30 national and international conferences like England, Portugal, and USA • Identified a number of unknown skeletons brought by police to Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Govt. Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32 A, Chandigarh from 2005 to 2013. • Have research collaborations with Cranfield Forensic Institute, Swindon (UK), Max Planck Institute of Human History, Germany, Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad and IIT, Roorkee for biological profiling of thousands of bones and teeth recovered from an abandoned well at Ajnala (Amritsar, India) • Have supervised more than 25 students in their M.Sc. dissertations in Forensic Science and Anthropology, Public Health departments of PU, Chandigarh and Seven scholars are pursuing their PhD degree in diverse fields of forensic sciences under my supervision. "
