"Kanchan K Jain is the Professor at Panjab University. She earned her Ph. D. (Statistics) (1986) Panjab University, Chandigarh, INDIA M.Phil.(Statistics) (1980) (81%) Third in Panjab Uni., Chandigarh, INDIA M.Sc. (Statistics) (1979) (76%) Third in Panjab Uni., Chandigarh ,INDIA B.A.(Hons. In English) (1977) (72%) Fifth in Panjab Univ., Chandigarh, INDIA. She is Chairperson/Head, Department of Statistics, Panjab University, Chandigarh from April 1, 2015 till date and from April 1, 1997 – March 31, 2000 . Advisor to UPSC. Member of UGC Expert Committees in Statistics. Member of various Departmental committees since 1980. Member of Board of Studies for Centre in Mathematics and Statistsics, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda. Member of Board of Studies of Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora, Srinagar. Placement Coordinator of the Departmental Placement Cell from 2005-2011. Member of Under Graduate of Board of Studies in Statistics, Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak from 2006-08. Member of Board of studies of Punjabi University, Patiala.
