Lalit K. Bansal

Biography

"Prof. Lalit K. Bansal, a University Medalist (Gold), joined Panjab University as a lecturer in 1976 and is working as Professor in Finance at present in University School of Open Learning. He is Dean Research in Panjab University. He is a keen researcher in the domains of Finance and Financial Services besides Tourism and Distance Education. He has authored three books and jointly edited two books. He has to his credit thirty nine papers published in Journals of repute and has presented thirty research papers in National and International Seminars and Conferences. He is on the advisory-cum-editorial Board of different Research Journals. He worked for promoting consultancy services in University when he was Honorary Director of Centre for Industry Institute Partnership Programme (CIIPP) besides organizing a number of soft skill workshops. He, besides other activities, got an MOU signed between CIIPP and Ludhiana Stock Exchange, Ludhiana for conducting “Certificate Programme in Capital Market”. He was instrumental in creating Intellectual Property Right Cell (IPR Cell) in Panjab University and is the founder Nodal Officer of this cell. This center is to facilitate processing of patent search and to educate about IPR in general and prepare a “Handbook of IPR”. He initiated financial incentive system for getting patents registered. During his tenure huge amount was earned by CIIPP through consultancy services. He is on the experts’ panel of AICTE and IGNOU for accreditation and other academic and Administrative assignments. Prof. Bansal is the founder Director of University Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism (UIHMT) Panjab University helped in designing market relevant course curriculum. Despite all teething problems planned and executed the labs and other facilities for the professional courses. Teaching learning was made ICT based. He has been Council Member of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Chandigarh. He is Member Secretary of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC of NAAC) of Panjab University. Prof. Bansal is Chairman of Research Promotion Cell of Panjab University. He is also a Fellow and nominated member of Senate (Highest Administrative Decision Making Body) of Panjab University and is on many decision making Committees of the university. He is at present Chairman of University School of Open Learning (USOL). "
