Biography

"Served as Chairperson (24.9.2010-30.03.2012) in the Department of Community Education and Disability Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Served as Director of the Regional Resource Centre for Adult & Continuing Education (RRC) from 19-7-2000 to 2003 and again from 19.7.2004 to 31.3.2010. Worked in UNFPA sponsored project in ‘Integration of Population Education in Literacy’ in RRC. Presently re-employed as a senior faculty member in Department of Community Education and Disability Studies, Panjab University. Teaching Pre-Ph.D. Course, M.A.-Community Education & Development and B.Ed. (Special Education in Learning Disability). The UNESCO global training during UNFPA project population education prompted me to initiate activities with women and children, their needs and rights in Punjab State and UT Chandigarh. Engaged in preparing norms for them in Teaching, Research and Evaluation, including HRD activities. Availed the next nearest opportunity being in campus with poor children between age group of 6-14 years supported by SSA. About 400 children in phases were educated in ‘Alternative Innovative Centre’ for out of school children under my supervision. The children joined regular schools under Inclusive Education leaving no scope for dropout (2006-2012). "
