Shri Prabhakar Singh

Biography

 Shri Prabhakar Singh (58 years) (DIN 01391766) is Director (Projects) of our Company. Prior to taking up this assignment, he was Executive Director (Northern Region-1) in the Company. After graduating in electrical engineering in 1978, he has served more than 38 years in flagship organizations of the Indian power sectors - Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board (MPSEB), NTPC Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and Jaypee Powergrid Ltd. (A joint venture of JP Power and POWERGRID). He was heading Northern Region-I, one of the largest regions of POWERGRID with total assets comprising about 30% of Powergrid’s total portfolio wherein he looked after construction of 6,000 MW ±800kV HVDC Bipole-Biswanath-Chariali-Agra Line which is the longest HVDC transmission system in the world. He was also looking after O&M of  26,000 ckt-km lines of rating 765/400/220kV AC & 800/500kV DC, Six HVDC, thirty-seven HVAC AIS/GIS & twenty nos FSC stations under operation in northern-region, maintained availability of more than 99.8% continuously. Major consultancy projects completed in his guidance are Afghanistan Project: Prestigious international transmission project involving construction of 400KV Kabul –Pul-e-Kumri T/L having 400CkM length and 400MVA, 220/110/20kV Chimtala substation, which is now considered as life line to power supply to Kabul was executed in hostile terrorist environment. Establishment of state of the art load dispatch centres and many prestigious domestic consultancy assignments.

Research Interest

 Major consultancy projects completed in his guidance are Afghanistan Project: Prestigious international transmission project involving construction of 400KV Kabul –Pul-e-Kumri T/L having 400CkM length and 400MVA, 220/110/20kV Chimtala substation, which is now considered as life line to power supply to Kabul was executed in hostile terrorist environment. Establishment of state of the art load dispatch centres and many prestigious domestic consultancy assignments. He was appointed as Director on our Board in February 2017.
