Rajesh Shenoy

Biography

 Rajesh Shenoy is the Vice President & Global Head of Research & Development for API Services at Piramal Pharma Solutions. Rajesh spearheads R&D initiatives at the sites in Digwal, Ennore, Torcan and Riverview. His core areas of expertise include New Product and Generic Development, Medicinal Chemistry, Technology Transfer, Organic Synthesis, Process Development, API Manufacturing and Alliance/Project Management. Rajesh has over 20 years of professional experience in managing small to large scale discovery/development as well as commercial projects and has cross-functional expertise in various disciplines including drug design, multi-step synthesis (micro & macro scale), lead identification and optimization of small molecules as potential drug candidates. Rajesh was earlier associated with AMRI Inc as VP of Global Chemical Development, where during an impressive 18 year stint he set up their Research Centre in Hyderabad and held P&L responsibility of the entire Indian operation. Rajesh’s professional repertoire also spans global roles in Project Management and Chemical Development. He has successfully steered responsibilities including Global Resources alignment, Technology Strategies and other focus areas to achieve strategic goals. Previously, he has also worked with National Organic Chemical Industries (NOCIL), Mumbai.

Research Interest

 Rajesh has completed his Postdoctoral Research Associate from Liquid Crystal Institute, USA and Ph.D. (Organic Chemistry) from University of Akron, USA.
