Priscilla C Ngaihte

Biography

Dr. Priscilla C. Ngaihte currently holds the position of In Charge, North East Region (Special Projects) and is the Co –Lead of the Swasth Uttar Purv: Healthy North East project, an initiative by Public Health Foundation of India and Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region to strengthen human resource and systems capacity for public health in the North eastern region. Dr. Ngaihte, a Public Health Specialist (Global Health) by training has over nine years of experience in public health research, teaching and projects management with the Public Health Foundation of India. Dr. Ngaihte is an alumni of Faculty of Health Sciences, Simon Fraser University, British Columbia. Dr. Ngaihte was a T5 (Teach the Teacher to Teach) representative for Boston University’s Web Portal in 2009 and completed a fellowship for the T5 Program from Boston School of Public Health, Boston University, Massachusetts in 2009. Dr. Ngaihte completed a training in HIV Medicine from Sydney University in 2011 under the Australian Leadership Fellowship Program (ALAF). She also completed a Research Fellowship under PHFI –UKC Wellcome Trust Grant from 2014-2016. Besides project management, coordinating and liaising with multiple state governments in various capacities in the North Eastern Region, Dr. Ngaihte has a strong inclination towards research in public health and has been a recipient of a number of awards including the SFU Community Health Award for Health Research for her work around HIV and high risk communities in North East India, the India-SFU Scholar Award and the TD Canada Trust Award for Health Sciences. As a future faculty fellow, she was earlier involved as a faculty in teaching and conducting trainings at Indian Institute of Public Health, Public Health Foundation of India and has led and is currently associated with a handful of projects in the North Eastern States as the Principal Investigator and Co- Investigator. Dr. Priscilla C Ngaihte has achieved a number of individual accolades and awards and has presented and published her research work at the national and international platforms.
