Biography
Arpita Chakraborty is currently working as Senior Research Fellow in Health Economics Group, Public Health Foundation of India since September 2014. She holds M.Phil. in Economics from the Center for Economic Studies and Planning (CESP), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. She has more than 12 years of experience in research, including process and impact evaluation. Her core area of research is health insurance, inequality in health related financial burden and its consequences on households’ living status in India, access to medicine, child health, fertility decisions and health promotion. Additionally Arpita has also worked in the areas of elementary education, public finance and poverty. She has published research papers on issues related to impact of various health related interventions on health-finance and catastrophic payment, health seeking behavior, awareness and practice of preventive health, child health and fertility decisions etc. in various peer reviewed international and national journals
