Biography
Sunil George began his engagement in health and development as an activist with the AIDS movement in India demanding access to treatment options for people living with HIV/AIDS. He has worked with several grassroots based organizations involved in health and development primarily in the southern part of India. He completed his MSc Public Health in Developing Countries from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine in 2008 and joined PHFI as a faculty member in the year 2008. His core-areas of interest include community based approaches to health, applying qualitative research methods to public health research as well as access to treatment. Sunil is also involved in teaching qualitative research methods and health policy analysis to the students on the postgraduate courses at IIPHD and SIHMC Gwalior. He currently leads the Health Policy analysis and contributes to teaching on other modules being run at IIPHD. He also conducts the annual workshop on computer based qualitative data analysis methods at IIPHD
