Biography
Dr Rajmohan Panda is a preventive medicine Specialist who has trained in public health (Global Health leadership) at Emory University in the USA. He has previously worked as a primary health care doctor in the Orissa state health department. His previous work in Care India involved research and advocacy in maternal health and nutrition. He has worked with other organizations like the American cancer society, tobacco technical assistance consortium at Emory. He currently works as a public health specialist and has led several research and technical assistance projects in different parts of India. His expertise is in health system strengthening and has included evaluation as well as operation research in different projects in different location in India. He has worked on diverse public health issues like nutrition, MCH, Adolescent health and Tobacco control. This has included work with various funding bodies including Govt. of India, WHO, Unicef, Gates foundation. USAID, Norwegian ministry of Health, Wellcome trust UK. He is passionate about translational research and his work has involved formulating policy recommendations and development of case studies for more meaningful health outcomes. A variety of work has ranged from academic “Quality of care in Maternal Health†and formulating case studies in maternal health innovations to hands –on technical assistance in operationalising FRUs in Jharkhand and work on regulation for system strengthening as part of Universal Health Coverage. He has presented his work at various national and international symposiums He has led NRHM review missions to different states in India. He teaches as an adjunct faculty at IIPH-Delhi and currently leads the community nutrition module of a distance learning course in Public Health Nutrition
