Biography
Ruby is in charge of the Biochemistry laboratory, GBL at CCDC /SANCD. She is responsible for all the biochemical analysis being performed for the organization. She ensures adherence to protocol for all the activities pertaining to sample collection, processing, storage as well as analysis to generate quality data. She coordinates the external quality assurance programs for the laboratory. Apart from this she is involved in the standardization of all new assays in the laboratory. She has a postgraduate and doctorate degree in Biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Before taking up the charge for the Biochemistry laboratory at GBL, she was working with Centre for Chronic Disease Control as Research Associate for the last seven years and was placed at Department of Cardiac Biochemistry, AIIMS, where she was involved in the capacity of Biochemical coordinator and quality assessment person in many multicentric studies like - Indian Migration Study, Comprehensive Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Programme at NTPC, Hindustan Liver Ltd study, WHO step-3, Low Dose Magnesium Sulphate Regimen for Management of Eclampsia and DEXA study. She has been actively involved in Standardization & Initiation of new protocols/measurements pertaining to laboratory assays as well as guidance to short-term trainees. She has also worked in the area of Dried Blood Spots, Trans fatty acid and small dense LDL in the Department of Cardiac Biochemistry. She has one patent filed and twenty eight publications in many national and international journals.
