Biography
Dr. Sandesh is a public health professional having keen interest in field of mental health systems research and policy strengthening. His research work is mainly in the areas of community and service user involvement, integrated healthcare and mental health systems strengthening. He has been working as a researcher for various consortium programmes such as EMERALD (Emerging Mental Health Systems in Low and Middle Income Countries) and PRIME (Programme for Improving Mental Health Care) in India. Dr. Sandesh completed his undergraduate medical education from S.N.K.D. Ayurved Medical College and then completed Master of Public Health from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. As a PhD candidate at IoPPN, King’s College London, Dr. Sandesh aims to continue the research work on Indian mental health system strengthening through the EMERALD project and explore effectiveness and expediency of service user and caregiver involvement strategies to strengthen mental health service delivery in India.
