Biography
Dr.A.CHANDRANjoined as Professor in Department of Civil Engineering, SA Engineering College, Chennai on 2nd May, 2015. He holds a Ph.D, in Civil Engineering from Anna University, Chennai and authored a research thesis titled “Flexural Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Beams Using Basalt Fibre Reinforced Polymer Composites”. His research work was highly commended by both external and internal examiners. He completed his Masters from MepcoschlenkEngineeringCollege, Sivakasi and Bachelors of Civil Engineering from AlagappaChettiar College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi. He is having 15 years of teaching and Industrial experience. He has acquired solid teaching experience at various Engineering Institutions as an Assistant Professor and later as an Associate Professor for several subjects such as Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics, Mechanics of Solids, Strength of materials Structural Analysis–I & II, Design of Concrete Structures, Advanced Design of Concrete Structures, Theory of Plates and Shells, Structural Dynamics, Finite Element Analysis etc.,.His interested research areas include Repair and Rehabilitations, Earth quake Engineering, Structural Dynamics, etc. He has authored over 11 publications in many International Journals including Elsevier Publications, Springer, Techno Press, etc. He also had won the Best Paper Award in International Conferences in two times in India. He has attended one International conference held at Singapore, in the year 2010.He has organized various programs like Workshops, Symposiums in various colleges and FDP. He is a Fellow Member in the Institution of Engineers, a Charted Engineer , a life member of Indian Society for Technical Education and life member of Indian Concrete Institute. He has enormous experience in Planning, Structural Design and execution. He has done a lot of consultancy works in various institutions.
