Dr. Ajeet Kumar Rai

Biography

Dr. A. K. Rai is working in the field of Thermal Engineering and Renewable Energy Technology since last 15 years. He has completed his Masters in Design of process machines at MNNIT Allahabad and Ph.D. in Solar Thermal Engineering at SHIATS, Allahabad, India. He is a recognized guide for M.Tech. And Ph. D. in Thermal and Energy Studies at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Allahabad. He has published more than 70 research papers in International Journals. He has 192 google scholar citations to his credit. He has 17 publications in Scopus indexed journals and 64 scopus citations. his h-index is 7 and i10-index is 5. He has delivered number of invited talks in National conferences/symposiums/ workshops on various issues in the field of Thermal Engineering and Renewable Energy Technologies. He has served as a member of Board of Studies for undergraduate programs offered by various departments like Dairy Technology, Food Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Water Resource Engineering of SHUATS, Allahabad since 2005. He is a member of Board of Studies for undergraduate and postgraduates programs offered by Mechanical Engineering Department SHUATS, Allahabad since 2005. He is a member of Board of Studies for PhD programs offered by Mechanical Engineering Department SHUATS, Allahabad since January 2011. He is a member of Institute council, Shepherd Institute of Engineering and Technology, SHUATS, Allahabad. Since 2015 Dr Rai is the Research coordinator in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Rai has sucessfully supervised Ph.D. thesis of Vivek Sachan (13PHME102). Ravish Kumar Srivastava (14PHME106) has submitted his dissertation under the able guidance of Dr. Rai. At present five research scholars are pursuing Ph.D. under his able guidance. Dr Rai has supervised 42 M.Tech. dissertations out of which more than 10 students from foreign countries. Over the years he has been able to promote the Renewable energy sources by introducing various courses and also motivating students to undertake research programs in this field. The students trained under his guidance are successfully perusing their research career in their respective countries. Dr. Rai has made unique and significant contributions in promoting the research culture amongst students and Teachers of SHUATS Allahabad and other Universities across the various disciplines such as Science, Engineering and Management etc. He is on the Editorial Board of many international and national journals in the field of Mechanical, Thermal and Energy engineering He is the Chief Editor of the international Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Technology (Scopus Indexed).
