Dr. Amit Alexander Charan

Biography

Dr. Charan has pursued B. Tech. Biotechnology (Genetic Engineering) from AAI-DU in 2008 with 84.1%, M. Tech. Biotechnology (Bioprocess Technology) from SHIATS with Gold Medal (93.6%), M. Divinity in 2011 and Ph.D. Biotechnology from SHIATS in 2013 with 89.7%. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Engineering, Jacob Institute of Biotechnology and Bioengineering, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh with specialization is in the field of Animal Biotechnology. He has guided 43 Postgraduate and 58 Undergraduate students for their Dissertation/Project Work. He has published 34 National & International publications with 12 abstracts. He has participated in 85 Conference/Symposium/Workshops etc and 07 Trainings. He was awarded YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD from Bioved Research Society in 2013, BHARAT JYOTI AWARD from India International Friendship Society in 2014 and YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD in International Conference on “Advancing Frontiers in Biotechnology for Sustainable Agriculture and Health" in 2016. He is also working in the Editorial Board for Asian Journal of Biosciences. He has delivered 10 Oral/Poster Presentations and 01 Guest Lecture. He has organised a National Symposium in 2014 at SHIATS. He has 17 Life memberships, 01 Seasonal membership, 01 Patron membership and 03 Fellow memberships of reputed National/International societies.
