Biography
Dr. Gurudayal Ram is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Engineering since 2007. He has completed B.Sc. Agriculture in 2004 from Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, M. Sc. (Agri.) Biotechnology from Orissa University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Bhubaneswar, Odisha in 2006, Ph. D. Biotechnology in 2013 from Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. He is recipient of ICAR merit and DBT scholarships during UG and PG studies respectively and has qualified UGC-CSIR NET in 2005. He has also worked as BCIL trainee at Bejosheetal Seeds Pvt. Ltd., Jalna, Maharashtra on "Development of Transgenic Chilli for resistance against insect". He is currently teaching and guiding Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral students for their project work/dissertation/thesis.Dr. Ram has published several research papers in national and international peer reviewed journals and popular articles.He has bee appointed as member, Editorial Board and Reviewer of several journals. He has also participated in several National and International conferences. He has been conferred two young scientist awards and one best oral presentation award.He has life memberships of several National and International societies.
Research Interest
Dr. Gurudayal Ram is teaching Plant Tissue Culture Technology, Plant Biotechnology, Introductory Biotechnology, Biotechnology for Crop improvement, Genomics, Advanced Plant Biotechnology, etc. to UG, PG and Ph.D. students. His research work is focused on Plant tissue culture as well as Screening, molecular and insilico analysis of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria. He has worked at Bejosheetal Seeds Pvt. Ltd., Jalna, Maharashtra on "Development of Transgenic Chilli for resistance against insect" and has attended hands-on-training programme during winter training programmes on “Plant Tissue Culture Applications” held at Networking Resource Centre, Madurai Kamraj University, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, “Viral Genomics and Transgenic Development” at Centre of Advanced Faculty Training, Division of Plant pathology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, and "Transgenic development in crop plants" held at National Research Centre on Plant Biotechnology (IARI), New Delhi.
