Biography
Dr. Pragati Misra presently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Moleculat & Cellular Engineering at Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agricultural Technology and Sciences, Allahabad since December, 2007. She has completed M.Sc. Plant Physiology and doctoral degree in Plant Physiology with minors in Biotechnology and Biochemistry from College of Basic sciences and Humanities, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, U.S. Nagar, Uttaranchal and M.Tech Biotechnology from SHIATS. She has qualified CSIR-NET-JRF and ICAR NET. Dr. Misra served as senior lecturer, Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Applied Medicimes and Research, Ghaziabad from August 2005 to November 2007. Dr. Misra was offered Research Associateship in U.P. Council of Sugarcane Research, Shahjahanpur from January 2005-August 2005. She was receipient of CSIR Junior Research fellowship and Senior Research Fellowship from January, 2002-December, 2003 and January, 2004- December, 2004 respectively. She has teaching and research experience of ten and eleven years respectively. Six students were awarded Ph.D. degree under her supervision and has advised many for their PG dissertations.
Research Interest
Dr. Misra has a good grasp of theoretical and practical knowledge of Biotechnology, including Plant tissue culture and Green nanotechnology. She has optimized in vitro regeneration protocols for stevia, safed museli, asparagus ashwagandha etc. medicinal plants. She has standardized protocol for mass multiplication of Banana from different explants and woking on microtuberization in potato and seconadary metabolite enhancement in mulethi and kashmiri garlic.
