Biography
Mr. Rinaldo John did his Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology with specialization in Industrial Microbiology from Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Allahabad. He was an active participant in the various events organised by the Society of Microbiologists, being a member thereof. In the final semester Mr. Rinaldo successfully completed his dissertation work on “Quality of Drinking Water from Dispensers and Tap-Water in Educational Setup”. Later Mr. Rinaldo joined Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, one of the top institutes in India to pursue his Master’s degree in Biotechnology. There he got the life time chance of being taught by some of the eminent professors which led to series of valuable projects starting “Construction and evaluation of prototype subsurface flow wetland planted with Heliconia sp. for the treatment of synthetic greywater” which got published in “Journal of Cleaner Production”. He submitted his dissertation on “Effect of changing environment on barnacle physiology” which he did under the guidance of a renowned scientist of his field from CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography, India’s best oceanographic institute. Currently Mr Rinaldo is working as an Assistant Professor and teaching Microbiology in the Department of Industrial Microbiology (IM), Jacob Institute of Biotechnology and Bioengineering (JIBB), SHUATS, Allahabad. He is also enrolled as a Ph.D scholar in Microbiology and his area of research work is Bioremediation.
