Biography
Smaranika Pattnaik, has joined as Asst. Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (since January, 2017) and Lecturer in School of Life Sciences (August, 2010 to December, 2016) Sambalpur University; Lecturer, Gayatri College of Pharmacy (November, 2002 to August, 2010).She is continuing her D.Sc. in Life Sciences (2010) under Sambalpur University. She was Research Associate (CSIR) at School of Life Sciences, JNU, New Delhi and at School of Life Sciences (1996-1998) and Assam University (1998-2001): Ph D in Medical Microbiology (1996) from Regional Medical Research Centre (ICMR), Bhubaneswar under Utkal University. MSc (1990-91) from Ravenshaw College (Utkal University), graduation from B.J.B College, Bhubaneswar (Utkal University).

Diagnostic Bacterial Genomics, Mechanism of drug resistance among Pan-Resistant bacterial strains of clinical and nosocomial relevance, Characterization of Antigens and Virulence factors, Detection of PAI (Pathogenic Island), Scientific exploration of secluded herbal drugs, Actinomycetes as potent source of Antibiotics, Bioprospectivity of nosocomial strains.
