Biography
Dr. Parag Sancheti, a practicing Orthopaedic Surgeon is the Chairman and Managing Director at Sancheti Institute for Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation and Joint Replacement Center. He is the visiting consultant for MCh Course at University of Dundee, U.K.He is currently the President of Poona Orthopaedic Society, Secretary General for Asia Pacific Knee Society, Vice President of Indian Association of Sports Medicine (IASM). He is the founder member of Indian Society of Hip and Knee Surgery. He is on board of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) of USA. He has also been the past secretary of Indian Arthroscopy Society (IAS). He was the Conveyer of the Medical Committee of the Commonwealth Youth Games held in Pune in 2008.His special interest lies in Total Joint Replacement surgery of the hip and knee, knee arthroscopy, pelvic and acetabulam fractures, Orthopaedic Research & Academics and most importantly sports injuries. Dr. Sancheti has presented many papers in India and Abroad on subjects like 'lndus Knee —Results of I50 early cases', Meniscal Injuries, Arthroï¬brosis, Meniscus Tears, TKR etc, and has also won many awards for best paper and presentation. He has more than 50 Publications in National and International journals to his credit. Some of which are- • Knee Osteoarthritis — Recent advances in its management • Role of Kanamycin Antibiotics Beads in management of chronic Many of his scholarly works have been included in medical textbooks as a part of the curriculum. He has himself authored a book 'Clinical Research Made EASY'. He has won social awards like the Rashtra Seva Puraskar, Best Chapter Award, MITCON Achievers Awards and nominated as one of the ‘Icons of Pune’ by the Lokmat Group for having contributed for the development of the city. He has been conferred with Hon. Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons at Edinburgh.
