Biography
Shri Madhu Mangesh Karnik was conferred with the 'Padmashri award' in the year 2002 by the Hon'ble President of India for his contribution in the field of literature. He is a renowned figure in the field of Marathi literature and has authored several books covering various categories which have been well appreciated by critics and readers. He has more than 75 titles to his credit including two books on small scale industry and one on entrepreneurial development (in English). Padmashri Karnik has served as a Gazetted Class-I Officer with the Govt. of Goa and Govt. of Maharashtra and was also the General Manager of MSSIDC, a Govt. of Maharashtra undertaking. He was appointed on The State Board of Literature and Culture for three terms wherein he was offered the status of Minister of State. He is associated with the Bank as its Cultural Advisor and is presently writing the history of the Bank for its centenary year. Recognitions: He has presided over the 'Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan' and is a recipient of several government awards for his contribution in the field of literature.
