Biography

Academic: • Has involved in e stablishment and strengthening of PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY LAB in the department • Assisted the department in organizing National Seminars/ symposia/Refresher course/workshop as a organizing secretary/member, as a treasurer and also dealing with seminar correspon dence, preparation of abstract or proceeding volumes and working out the schedule and its implementation during seminar days in close coordination with other committee members. • Has assisted the coordinator, UGC -DSA program (1994- 1999) as a member of advisory committee and also as a member in UGC -SAP (2000- 2005), COSIST (2001- 2006) programs for their successful implementation. • Made linkages between the University as well as Department and Global Technology Mission, Santokpura through memorandum of understand ing for establishing tissue culture lab for commercial propagation of plantation crops at Santokpura. • Has been actively involved in assisting the department in successful conduction of M.Sc. Biotechnology entrance test as well as in the admission process. • Has assisted the department as one of the committee member in departmental committees (Examinations, Instruments purchase, ch emicals and glassware purchase and Botanical Garden Etc.) Teaching & Research • Has involved in framing the syllabi for M.Sc. Bot any and Biotechnology courses following the UGC -CSIR NET syllabus and also as per the guidelines received from the UGC and introduced to cater the present day needs of the students. • Has also modified and introduced several practicals as a step towards under taking the project work by M.Sc. students independently in the fourth semester • Has created several research facilities in the form of instruments from the grants of the sponsored research projects being u ndertaken. (Zeiss Stemi2000 binocular microscope with photographic attachment, laminar air flow with glass bead sterilizer (specially designed), Incubator shaker, Illuminated racks etc.) • Has contributed to the successful running of UGC -DSA, UGC -SAP, UGC -COSIST programs as an active member • Has collaborat ed with other colleagues in preparing, implementation and successful completion of the joint research proposals • Has collaborated as a Co -investigator in a joint research proposal with National Research Centre on Medicinal & Aromatic Plants Boriav
