Atul K. Desai is Specialized in Fields of Structural Dynamics ï‚· Machine Foundations ï‚· Earthquake Engineering ï‚· Geotechnical Engineering ï‚· Structural Forensic, Hari Ohm Ashram Bhaikaka Gold Medal” for getting First position in South Gujarat University, in B.E. Final (Civil). Given by Governor of Gujarat State. Date of Joining College: 5th August, 1983 Teaching & Professional Experience Since 34 Years. Working at Applied Mechanics Department, S. V. National Institute of Technology, Surat. Head of the Department, from Aug’09 to July’11 Prof. I/C Estate Section, From Oct. 16, 2008 to July 27, 2009.

Structural Dynamics, Machine Foundations, Turbo Machinery Frame Foundation, Bridge engineering, Earthquake engineering & structural forensic, Bridges subject to seismic loading, Analysis and designing of tall structure (such as microwave towers, chimney, cooling tower, steel structure), Soil Structure Interaction, Geo Textile, Fiber reinforced soil, Wind induced oscillation in structure, Pile raft foundation, Fiber Reinforced concrete & its damping and energy dissipation, Beam-column joint, Synthetic time history analysis, Roller compacted concrete for Rural Road development.
