Biography
Dr.Koppala Narayana Sunil Kumar, Senior Research Officer-Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry at SDM Centre for Research in Ayurveda and Allied Sciences (AYUSH Centre of Excellence, and DSIR recognized SIROs) Udupi. Received Ph.D. in ‘Pharmacognosy and Chemistry – Interdisciplinary’ from The University of Madras, a public state University located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Research Interest
Taxonomy: Identification medicinal plants used in Indian systems of medicine in fresh and dried form;Pharmacognosy: Macro-, microscopic examination of raw drugs, quantitative microscopy, camera lucida drawing and photomicrography;Phytochemistry: Testing, extraction, isolation and characterization of phyto-constituents;Standardization: Derivation of Pharmacopoeial standards and preparation of monographs for medicinal materials;Quality control: Testing protocol for different dosage forms of Indian Systems of Medicine.
