Prof. P. K. Mitra

Biography

Prof. Pramod Kumar Mitra graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering and obtained his MBA (Finance) from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, India. He has also done Post Graduate Diploma in HR from Delhi University. He is a certified associate of Indian Institute of Banking & Finance. He has attended Advance Management Programs at IIM Ahmedabad, Management Development Program at Administrative Staff College of India Hyderabad. He has also attended Programs at International Bank for Settlement at Basle, Switzerland, European Business School Paris & European Business School London. Professor Mitra is widely travelled to countries like UK, Canada, France, Switzerland, Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Malaysia, Singapore, Ghana, Ethiopia, and Nigeria on various assignments. Prof. Mitra has worked with Bureau of Indian Standards & Indian Railways where after he joined Banking. He has a rich experience in banking sector. As a General Manager in a Nationalized Bank, he has been in charge of Corporate Lending, and has handled Stressed Assets Management Division, Legal Division & Management Information System Division. Prof. Mitra also worked as General Manager (HR), holding charge of Human Resources Development Division. He has also been the President of PNB Rural Development Trust. He joined Education sector in July 2010. Prof. Mitra was Awarded “Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhawna Award” (State Level) in the year 2007 for being the Best Banker of the Year; “Udyog Shree Award” in 1993 for contribution in growth of Small Scale Industries; Awarded twice as “Best Salesman of Services” in 1982 and 1984 by the Vice President of India and the President of India respectively.
