Dr.mrs. Chitra Sambare

Biography

 Dr Chitra Sambare has done her graduation and postgraduation ( MS) from Indira Gandhi Govt Medical College Nagpur and FRCS from university of Edinburgh UK . She has also done post FRCS Fellowships from UK in - 1. Refractive cataract surgery and corneal diseases. 2. Keratoprosthesis for corneal blindness. She has extensive experience of over 14 years in Ophthalmology of working in various hospitals in UK and India. She has performed innumerable successful phaco- cataract surgeries in UK and in India.   She has presented papers in American Academy meetings and European meetings and has also attended many ophthalmic courses.She has many publications in International journals to her credit. She is involved in many international clinical research projects. “Genetic linkage in Glaucoma families and screening for Glaucoma” will be the next research projects due to be started at Shashwat hospital. She is first Eye surgeon in Pune to perform successful advanced Lamellar corneal transplant surgery.
