Biography
Academic degrees: Ph.D. (Wildland Resource Sciences), University of California, Berkeley; M. Phil & M.Sc. (Agricultural Economics) and B. Sc. (Ag.), HP University, Shimla. Additionally (i) undergone a short course on ‘Forest Management Planning for Sustainable Livelihoods’ conducted by TFRG (Tropical Forestry Research Group) at Regents College, Oxford, UK, and (ii) training on ‘Gender and Organizational Change for Sustainable Mountain Development in the Hindu-Kush Himalayas’ at ICIMOD, Kathmandu, Nepal. Prior to Shoolini University Prof. Negi held the positions of Students’ Welfare Officer; Professor & Head, Department of Business Management; Professor & Head, Department of Social Sciences; Officer-on-Special-Duty to the Vice Chancellor, and Coordinator, Mountain Women Development Centre at the Dr Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. He has also been on expert panel of subject matter specialists for Agricultural Services Recruitment Board, New Delhi; Expert (socioeconomics) for evaluating research projects at Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, Dehradun and Himalyan Forest Research Institute, Shimla. He has a wide teaching, research and administrative experience and has guided a number of Doctoral, Masters and MBA students in their research endeavors. Prof. Negi has also been associated with more than 25 research projects in the field of applied economics. He is well traveled and has visited the USA, UK, Thailand, Nepal, and Pakistan at different occasions
