Biography
Ph.D. Dr. Jayashree Shinde is in the teaching profession for the last 25 years. She is heading the Department of Educational Technology, SNDT University for the past 9 years and has been working as a Faculty in the Department for the last 21 years. She teaches Educational Technology at masters level which develops skills in Instructional Design, OLD systems and especially for e-learning. She is currently guiding 6 PhD scholars mainly working in the fields of M-Learning, Co-operative strategies in Online environments, User Interface Design, etc. She has been guiding several Post-graduate students in their research. She is Standing Committee member of ePG Pathshala, UGC and Pedagogy Committee of DTH, MHRD. She is on Project Review Committee on several projects of NMEICT. She is on the Advisory Boards of other Universities on initiatives in Education and Educational Technology. She was Standing Committee member of the National Mission for ICT in Education (NMEICT) of MHRD. Dr. Shinde has a very illustrious academic record. She stood first at B.Ed. and M.Ed. from SNDT Women’s University and has won Gold medals at B.A. from Mumbai University and at HSC. She started exploring the field of Educational Multimedia in 1993 and then pursued PhD in the same field. Her expertise lies in ICT-based training, interactive material development, planning online courses, using constructivist instructional strategies and innovative assessments. She is actively involved in multimedia development projects at the department for more than 12 years. The Department of Educational Technology has so far developed about 100 Computer Based Learning Packages from Grade I to IX and 200 Learning Objects for Grade X to XII. She is Project Investigator of NMEICT project of eCOntent development and have developed eContent of about 300 hours for professional development of teacher-trainees and teachers in Higher Education. She is co-ordinator of the initiative of framing ICT Policy at the SNDT Women’s University. The initiative is being materialised in collaboration with Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Canada. At the SNDT Women’s University, she has organized several faculty training programmes on ‘Integrating iCTs in Higher Educationâ€. About 500 faculty from the University departments and affiliated colleges as well as University faculty from Kurukshetra, Bhubaneswar and Mizoram are trained in these training workshops.
Research Interest
Dr. Shinde has worked as a resource person and visiting faculty in Canada, Bangladesh, Singapore and Mauritius including teaching at M.Ed. in the Regina University of Canada. She has worked as a Resource Person in several workshops organised by SNDT, DPEP, NCERT, IIT, SIET, DEP-IGNOU, COL, etc. She is course writer for IGNOU and has written modules of several courses.
