Biography

KATRA: Prof. I.K Pandita, Renowned and eminent Professor of Mechanical Engineering appointed as professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU. Prof Pandita has done doctorate in Aeronautical Engineering from IIT Bombay. However, Prof. Pandita has previously served National Aeronautical Laboratory as Scientist and vast academic experience in the field of mechanical engineering as well as vast administrative experience. It is pertinent to mention that he has held the position of Dean Faculty Welfare and as HoD, Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIT Srinagar. Prof. Pandita has been instrumental in the setting up of Maintenance Engineering Centre at NIT Srinagar in collaboration with Fiat Italy and has authored numerous research papers related to fundamental principles in structural engineering in international journals of high repute while Dr. Balbir Singh, HoD, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU welcomed Prof. Pandita in the department in which Prof. Pandita interact with the faculty and staff members of Department of Mechanical Engineering was held as well.
