Shri C. Kannan

Biography

 C. Kannan has got more than 31 years of rich & diverse experience primarily in Power & Steel Sector as a Techno-commercial and Finance Professional. A Mechanical Engineer cum Cost Accountant by profession, Mr. Kannan before joining Solar Energy Corporation of India on 4th December 2012, has had extensive work experience both in the Public and Private sectors in reputed companies like PowerGrid Corporation of India Ltd., Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd. etc. He handled various multidisciplinary functions like Finance & Accounts (in the areas of Finance Concurrence, Revenue Accounting, Finalization of Accounts, Treasury Management, IPO and Commercial Management), Regulatory Affairs, Merger and Acquisition, Contract Management and Operation & Maintenance of Thermal Power Station. 

Research Interest

 Mr. Kannan played a key role in Power Grid’s expansion, its financial planning and strategic growth. He was responsible for taking up various policy advocacy issues with the CERC and instrumental in the process of opinion making/ policy formulation of the Power Grid on various initiatives of CERC with regard to framing/ revising the regulations related to transmission sector. He was also associated in the due diligence of a major steel company worth of USD 525 million in Oman for successful acquisition.
