Academic Qualifications M.Sc in Biochemistry, University of Pune, 1977 Ph.D in Biochemistry, SCTIMST, 1990 Post Doctoral (Platelet Biology), University of Minnesota, 1990-92 Professional Record Product Development : i. Fibrin Glue (fibrinogen concentrate & thrombin), FVIII, as per EP specifications ii. Antibodies against viper venom as per WHO requirements iii. Fibrin Sheet as hemostat iv. Fibrin Wafer for Drug Delivery Research: i. Design of fibrin-based, cell-specific extra cellular matrix composition for differentiation of circulating adult stem cells for regenerative therapy (Endothelial cell, Smooth muscle cells, Neurons & Keratinocytes). ii. Development of hybrid scaffold using biodegradable polymer and biomimetic fibrin composite for: 1. Vascular graft tissue engineering 2. Skin tissue engineering Testing Service (ISO10993 part4) : i. In vitro blood compatibility & ii. In vitro drug response to vascular cells iii. Consultancy (free) provided for Industrial and Academic customers 4. Teaching: i. Research Interest
Development of tissue engineered small diameter vascular graft and tissue engineered skin substitutes using biodegradable hybrid (polymer-ECM) scaffolds; Standardization of technology for isolation/expansion/differentiation of autologous stem cells for patient-specific tissue engineering and regenerative purposes.
