Research Interest
Immunodiagnostics- Development and application of molecular approaches (including immunoassays and molecular biological) for specific diagnosis of chronic infections of the CNS including neurotuberculosis, neurocysticercosis, neurobrucellosis and cryptococcal meningitis and as well as for to those infectious diseases where diagnosis by culture is difficult or not possible with in 24-48h. Vaccine research- Identification of protective antigens of M. tuberculosis, role of cytokines in enhancing intracellular killing of mycobacteria, identification and designing of alternative vaccine for tuberculosis. Microbial pathogenesis- Studying possible role of microbial pathogens in causation of non-infectious disorders.
